About Antonio: Antonio Monaco is an elite competitive figure skater with 10 years of experience in the sport. Born and raised in High Bridge, New Jersey, his passion and dedication for the sport led him to relocate to Nashville, Tennessee, to train with Kori Ade and now works with CitySkate Nashville. Prior to relocating, Antonio's skating journey was starting to blossom, As a competitive skater, he was a 2x Sectional Medalist, Juvenile Pair National Silver Medalist, and 2x U.S. National Development Team (NDT) Member
Relocating to Nashville opened a new world of opportunity for his career. Within one year of the switch, Antonio was crowned Novice National Silver Medalist. He then earned a spot on the U.S. NDT for a third time. In the same season, he had a Top 10 finish at the Junior National Championships and joined the International Selection Pool (ISP). This feat, combined with his previous titles, earned him the opportunity to represent Team USA on the international stage and join the U.S. National Team.
Antonio has gone on to compete at multiple international competitions, as well as the U.S. Junior Team Cup. His accomplishments have marked the beginning of his competitive career defined by perseverance, adaptability, and continuous growth. He is currently competing at the Senior level, training his triple and developing quad jumps. With Antonio being a full-time athlete, he is pursuing his long-term goal to one day qualify for the U.S. World Team.
Throughout the journey of his career thus far, Antonio has experienced both the highs and challenges the sport can bring. His training experience as an athlete has shaped his philosophy both on and off the ice. He understands firsthand the hard-work, discipline, mental strength, and resilience required to succeed at the highest levels and is deeply motivated to pass his knowledge onto the next generation. His coaching philosophy centers on leading by example, instilling confidence, strategy, and belief in athletes so they can reach their full potential.
In addition to working with competitive and beginning skaters, Antonio has proudly worked with the Special Olympics program to help children with disabilities enjoy the fun of skating. His sister, Angelina, has severe Autism, and is also a lover of figure skating.
