Karen brings a wealth of elite-level experience to the ice, both as a highly accomplished competitor and as a world-class creative mind. Growing up training alongside her sister, legendary figure skater Michelle Kwan, under the guidance of Hall of Fame coach Frank Carroll, Karen quickly established herself as one of the country's top talents. Known for her deeply expressive, lyrical style and exceptional technical precision, she achieved a career-high fifth-place finish at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships and earned an international bronze medal at the Nebelhorn Trophy.

After retiring from competitive skating, Karen transitioned her passion for the sport into education and mentorship. She graduated from Boston University with a degree in Communications and has gone on to work as a highly sought-after choreographer and coach. Over the years, she has shaped the programs of elite national and international skaters.
